Praying & fasting

There are moments when God calls His people to step away from the noise and draw closer to Him.

Our 40-Day Fast is a sacred invitation to realign our hearts, renew our minds, and seek God with greater intentionality.

Fasting is not about restriction,  it’s about surrender.

It’s about creating space for deeper prayer, clearer direction, spiritual breakthrough, and renewed intimacy with Christ.

“Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.” – James 4:8

Daniel Fast Recipes for Today

All recipes are plant based, whole food, no added sugar, no leavened bread, no processed ingredients.

Breakfast

Mango Avocado Cilantro Power Bowl

Fresh. Energizing. Clean fuel.

Ingredients
  • 1 ripe mango, diced
  • 1 ripe avocado, diced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 2 tablespoons raw pumpkin seeds or walnuts
  • Pinch sea salt
  • Optional: ½ cup cooked quinoa (for added protein)

Instructions
  1. Combine mango and avocado in a bowl.
  2. Add cilantro and lime juice.
  3. Sprinkle chia seeds and pumpkin seeds on top.
  4. Add a pinch of sea salt.
  5. If using quinoa, layer it at the bottom for a more filling breakfast.

Why this works:
Healthy fats from avocado, fiber from mango and chia, plant protein from seeds. Light but sustaining.

Lunch

Simple Garden Salad with Lemon Tahini Dressing

Clean. Fresh. Restorative.

Salad Ingredients
  • 3 cups mixed greens
  • ½ cucumber, sliced
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • ¼ red onion, thinly sliced
  • ½ cup shredded carrots
  • ¼ cup raw sunflower seeds

Lemon Tahini Dressing
  • 2 tablespoons tahini
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small garlic clove, minced
  • 2 to 4 tablespoons water to thin
  • Pinch sea salt

Instructions
  1. Whisk dressing ingredients until smooth. Add water gradually until pourable.
  2. Toss salad ingredients together.
  3. Drizzle dressing on top before serving.

Optional addition: Add chickpeas for extra protein.

Dinner

Yam, Black Bean & Brown Rice Bowl

Hearty. Comforting. Grounding.

Ingredients

  • 1 large yam or sweet potato, cubed
  • 1 cup cooked brown rice
  • 1 cup cooked black beans (rinsed if canned with no additives)
  • ½ red bell pepper, sliced
  • ½ small red onion, sliced
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish
  • Lime wedges

Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.
  2. Toss yam cubes with olive oil, cumin, paprika, and sea salt.
  3. Roast 25 to 30 minutes until tender.
  4. Warm black beans and brown rice.
  5. In a bowl, layer rice, beans, roasted yams, bell pepper, and onion.
  6. Top with cilantro and a squeeze of lime.

Optional: Add sliced avocado or a spoon of homemade salsa.
